We are running a paid research study to evaluate which at-home anthropometric measurement devices work best for INFANT FORMULA GROWTH MONITORING STUDIES — and to test the ease of use of the ObvioHealth mobile app (ObvioGo) for real-time data capture in decentralized trials.
We are looking for professionals in infant nutrition and clinical research to participate. The study takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes, is done from your own location, and everything is shipped to and from you at no cost.

Step 1 – We ship you a kit. You’ll receive 11 measurement devices, a silicone baby doll, a tripod, and all study materials. Nothing to purchase.
Step 2 – Join a guided video call. At a time that suits you, join a Microsoft Teams call with one of our Clinical Research Coordinators. They will walk you through every step, including downloading and using the ObvioGo app.
Step 3 – Measure the doll. Using each device in turn, measure the doll’s weight, length, and head circumference. A second person is needed for length measurements – a colleague or partner works perfectly.
Step 4 – Rate each device in ObvioGo. After each device, complete a short usability survey in the ObvioGo app on your phone – rating ease of use, readability, and how confident you’d feel using it with a real infant. Takes about 2 minutes per device.
Step 5 – Complete a questionnaire containing representative questions that a caregiver would respond to in a growth monitoring study such as GI symptoms and study formula intake and complete a usability survey.
Step 6 – Ship it back. Pack everything into the original box, attach the prepaid shipping label, and we’ll schedule a courier pickup from your address.

This study uses ObvioGo, the ObvioHealth mobile app is built for decentralized clinical trial participation. After testing each measurement device, you’ll complete a short usability survey directly in the app — no paper forms, no manual data entry. Your coordinator will walk you through downloading and using ObvioGo at the start of your session. No prior experience with the app is needed.
Before You Sign Up
A second person is required for length measurements — a colleague or partner works perfectly. They will receive a $25 gift card for their time.
You’ll need two phones for the session — one for you, one for your assistant — and a hard flat surface to set up the devices
The session runs on Microsoft Teams. No preparation needed — our coordinator handles everything, including walking you through ObvioGo.
This study was reviewed by Sterling IRB and is exempt from full IRB approval under U.S. DHHS Category 2 criteria. Participation is completely voluntary.

This device evaluation study builds on peer-reviewed research showing that telehealth-guided caregivers can collect infant anthropometric measurements with reliability comparable to trained healthcare providers — with coefficients of reliability exceeding 0.96 across all measurements. The next step is identifying which specific devices and data collection tools make that process most practical in the field.
